Window Seat Cushion

The addition of a window seat cushion to your window seat can provide you with the benefit of comfort as well as relaxation and in addition it helps to make the interiors look that much more elegant and appealing. Rather than shop for these accessories it is a good idea (especially for those who are good with their hands) to make them with their own two hands.

It is in fact easy to make your own window seat cushion and it also means that you get to get more out of your old and unused sofa or chair cushions. Furthermore, it also helps you to do your bit to recycle old material and so you are helping to keep the environment safe.

If you wish to create such a cushion you need to start off by measuring the required width and length of the window seat. Next, you can take the foam out of an old sofa cushion or mattress and then cut up the foam to about 11/2 inches less than the size of the seat.

After this you have to simple find a useful cover which can be purchased or you can make it for yourself. You can also make use of a sheet which is not needed and this can be cut to a size that is big enough to fit a cushion in it.

Finally, you only need to sew up the edges while leaving one end open so that you can insert the window seat cushion into it and then when this is done you can sew the open side close.

The last thing that you need to do after making the cushion is find a nice cover into which you can place the finished cushion and then you will have a nice accessory with which to adorn your window seat.
